Volunteer at Dublin LGBTQ+ Pride 2019

We require 6-10 UCD students to help with our event for fun day entitled 'Wednesday Wipeout' taking place on 17th April to help much needed funds for Thrombosis Ireland. This event is to help with student exam relieve, with the event offering prizes in our raffle, free pizza & drinks and donations of 2euro for participating in the inflatable games. We have a target of 4,000 to reach for the charity by the 25th April.
Volunteers will help set up on the day from 8am for as long as they can while being able to avail of the food, games and entrance into the raffle for the prizes also.
No training is required on the day however if volunteers had first aid training this would be convenient.
This promises to be a fun day for all involved! :)

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Duties for the day will include helping the team of Smurfit MSc Project Management students & Thrombosis Ireland volunteers general set up the event such as tents (weather permitting), promote the event around campus with the student population, food distribution at peak times, gather donations, signage, monitoring safety on the day with crowd control support and clean up if required by 4pm with the ending of the games.
Skills required for this role:
There are no essential skills required for this event however all will be explained to volunteers in advance of the event and on the day.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Only for 17th April morning 8am -4pm or as long as possible on the day for help. Prior meetings about the event are flexible with the team members.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
No screening for the role is required however UCD students with a good knowledge of the campus is rated highly and prior experience of event fundraising.
