Description

4 Guides needed to direct attendees of our 8th Annual PPI Summer School. The PPI Summer School is set to be held in Health Sciences Building with breaks aimed to be held in IWAMD. The Summer School is aimed for PPI contributors, researchers, medical practitioners, patients and more.

Our attendees often have mobility and/or other disabilities that make it difficult for them to get around so this year we want to have volunteers on site during registration, breaks, and our BBQ to guide attendees in the right direction and add to our accessibility for this event.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Thursday

FYI - Guides will be allowed to have food from catering including the BBQ.

  • Morning Registration guidance (approx 1hr)

Above will require guiding attendees to and from Registration Desk/Coffee Table and answering any questions about where rooms are.

  • Morning Break (approx. 1hr10min)

Guiding attendees from their class in Health Sciences to break room (aiming for IWAMD)

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

  • Lunch Break (approx. 1hr20min)

Guiding attendees from their class in Health Sciences to break room (aiming for IWAMD)

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

  • BBQ Evening (Approx. 1hr15)

Guiding attendees to Pavilion for the BBQ.

Friday

  • Morning Break (Approx. 50min)

Guiding attendees from their class in Health Sciences to break room (aiming for IWAMD)

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

Skills required for this role:

  • Good communication skills for directing attendees
  • Good understanding of HSG rooms and IWAMD to give clear directions eg know which direction the classrooms are in, admin will help with this

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Thursday 15th June sporadically 9am-6pm and Friday 16th June Morning

Minimum time commitment per week:
8 hour p/week
