Description

4 Guides needed to direct attendees of our 9th Annual PPI Summer School. The PPI Summer School is set to be held in the Kemmy Business School. The Summer School is aimed at PPI contributors, researchers, medical practitioners, patients, community stakeholders, and more. 

Our attendees often have mobility issues and/or other disabilities that may make it challenging for them to get around, so this year we would like to have volunteers on site during registration, breaks, and our BBQ to guide attendees in the right direction and add to our accessibility for this event. 

Catering and t-shirts will be provided for free for guides. 

Is training provided?: No

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Monday 17th

FYI - Guides will be allowed to have food from catering including the BBQ. 

  • Morning Registration guidance (approx 45mins)

The above will require guiding attendees to and from the Registration Desk/coffee table and answering any questions regarding room locations etc. 

  • Morning Break (Approx 30 mins) 

Guiding attendees from their class in the Kemmy Business School to break room and tea/coffee table. 

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

  • Lunch Break (Approx. 1hr)

Guiding attendees from their class in the Kemmy Business School to break room / catering area. 

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

  • BBQ Evening (Approx. 1hr15)

Guiding attendees to the Summer School BBQ. 

 

Tuesday 18th 

  • Morning Break (Approx. 30min)

Guiding attendees from their class in the Kemmy Business School to break room and tea/coffee table. 

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

  • Lunch Break (Approx. 1hr)

Guiding attendees from their class in the Kemmy Business School to break room / catering area. 

Guiding attendees with special dietary requirements to correct food tray.

Skills required for this role:

  • Good communication skills for directing attendees. 
  • Good understanding of the Kemmy Business School building and rooms to give clear directions, e.g., know which direction the classrooms are in etc. Admin will help with this. 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday 17th of June sporadically from 9am - 6pm and Tuesday 18th of June 9am - 2pm.

Minimum time commitment per week:
10 hour p/week
