Description

Aphasia Ireland is currently looking for Volunteer Administrative Assistants across Ireland who can help us provide all-round support for people with Aphasia. This opportunity would be most suitable for people with some administrative/office experience (though this is not a requirement!) and/or PR, Business, Marketing, Administration, Law, Event Management and Human Resources students. However, all volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome! If you think you can contribute to the ongoing work that Aphasia Ireland does to help individuals with aphasia, then please consider applying!

We are seeking volunteers who can assist with a wide variety of administrative tasks from marketing to human resources to accountancy. Due to Covid-19, we are operating remotely. Therefore, this is a virtual role for the time being. 

This is a brilliant opportunity for students who wish to gain experience in an office/admin setting and make their CVs stand out. 

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

In this role, you will be assisting with some of the following: organising fundraisers and generating new fundraising ideas, grant writing, marketing - including social media content and updating website, answering email enquiries and general admin/office support duties. You may also assist other volunteers in research into the ever changing legal obligations of a charity/registered company and help update our systems to ensure we are compliant in all areas and as well helping in the recruitment process. 

Your opinion matters most and therefore you will be assisting us in areas that interest you most! 

We welcome volunteers with ideas on how we could improve our services and further help people living with aphasia and their loved ones. We would love to hear from individuals who have skills not listed in this ad, that might be beneficial to Aphasia Ireland and our clients in a varied capacity as well. 

Skills required for this role:

The ideal candidate should have a positive and friendly attitude, be self-motivated and trustworthy. They will be a self-starter who can work independently as well as be able to work well within a diverse team. 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong IT skills 

Organised and detail oriented

Ideally, studying towards a degree in one of the following:
PR
Human Resource Management
Marketing
Business Administration or Business Management
Event Management 
Law
General Business/Commerce

Previous Administration and/or Non-profit sector experience would be an advantage though is not required 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Wednesday evenings is a must - weekly meeting.

Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
