Requirements:Applicants must attend leaders training including starting out and child protection.


Volunteers will gain valuable experience both for personal fulfillment and professional development. Training is offered through out their participation. Gain friendships and have a positive experience.The club members and leaders are currently vibrant and involved young people making them a fun and active club to be part of. The young people are looking for people to get involved who would be interested in being part of the club on a weekly basis.  The new volunteer will be working with the existing leaders who will support them to fulfil their role. The Regional Youth Officer will provide training and support for the volunteer understand full their role in the club. First steps include garda vetting and volunteer application form to establish the person applying. The purpose of Foroige is to enable young people to involve themselves in their own development and in the development of their community. The role of the volunteer therefore is to enable the members aged 12 to 18 participate fully in their club. Encourage participation and facilitate all members equally. New volunteers will be welcomed by members and volunteers alike. They will be a valued member of the club

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Facilitation of the group, facilitation of the programmes. Take an active part in the club. Support leaders on issues of discipline, health and saftey and have fun. Give young members responsibility and respect. Support them in their roles, encourage and praise efforts by members. Give constructive support and challenge them in their efforts.

The role of the leader is to enable the members to know more, do more and be more. They must not do for a member what they can apporpately do for themselves and ensure foróige's policies and procdures are followed at all times to ensure the saftey of young pepople and volunteers

Skills required for this role:

Volunteers must be over 18. The club is seeking people who are able to effectively build relationships with young people and adults, have a positive and flexible approach to working as part of a team. A proactive and motivated person who enjoys volunteering in a youth environment.The clubs require someone who is able to problem solve and has a real sense of fun.
