Connemara Green are pleased to announce their spring series of ‘Connemara Conservation Conversations’. Having run the Connemara Green Festival for 5 years, the Covid-19 pandemic has provided Connemara Green with an opportunity to refocus and develop awareness on biodiversity and ecology in this region. Topics will focus on conservation with inspiring speakers and conservations on bringing talk into action. 

Our spring programme will get off to a green start on the 17th of March 2021! 

Each talk will be approximately 35 minutes with time for Q & A’s after.

List of talks: 17th March 2021 at 7.30pm Freshwater pearl mussel – Saving an ancient species under threat. In conversation with Marie Louise Heffernan CEnv MCIEEM The Ecology Centre Letterfrack 24th March 2021 at 7.30pm “Where have all the salmon gone?” In conversation with John Murphy Salmon Watch Ireland 31st March 2021 at 7.30pm “Ash dieback – a loss for the nation” In conversation with Dr Frances Giaquinto CEnv MCIEEM Ecological Research and Practice 7 April at 7.30pm “Common Scoters rare breeding ducks on Lough Corrib” In conversation with Jackie Hunt MCIEEM MSc 14 April at 7.30pm Dawn chorus – In conversation with Birdwatch Ireland
