The Life Centre is a voluntary organisation established by the Christian Brothers in Dublin in 1996.
The Cork Life Centre opened in 2000 in Winter’s Hill on the Sunday’s Well Road and is one of four in Ireland. We cater for 12-18 year olds who have left mainstream schooling due to a wide variety of reasons, all related to the needs of the young person not being properly met in a mainstream setting.
Our focus is to help the young people in the Centre to achieve their Junior Certificate and gain essential life skills through 1:1 teaching and a holistic approach to the student's education and well-being. Since 2010 we have also run a Leaving Cert programme with great success!
We also strive to help our students receive a good social education in the time they are with us. The atmosphere of the Centre is closer to a home than a school, there is a huge scope for the development of students’ talents and creativity as well as their academic learning.
The following subjects are taught at the Life Centre across Junior and Leaving Cert:
Maths, Computer Studies, Woodwork/Construction Studies, Home Economics, Science, Business,
English, Irish, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, History, Geography, Art, Music, CSPE, SPHE

- be caring, enthusiastic and non-judgmental in their approach to people.
