Description

Covid 19 is still among us and we are not sure how long it will be around for. We must learn how to live with it in a safe and responsible way. It is time for all of us to play our part in the fight against it!

Here in UL student life we want to prevent another university lockdown and we are recruiting you, the students to help us. The message on social distancing may no longer be getting through to young people and we want as much students as possible behind us.

The health and well-being of students who volunteer and organisations who host volunteers is a priority of studentvolunteer.ie. At this time volunteers are more important than ever and are doing so much for their communities and it is important that volunteers adhere to the HSE guidelines.

We understand that some volunteers may feel hesitant to join our Covid team and if you identify yourself as “high-risk” or know someone close to you that is vulnerable please do not join this team for your own safety.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

We are not sure what this semester will bring but it will be great to have a dedicated team on board to help us with activities throughout the term. For instance, we are looking at leaflet drops into various on and off campus student accommodation sites around the college. Other events may include helping us with socially distanced activities in the courtyard, promote our covid awareness campaigns and help with social distance queues.
