Foróige’s digital youth work takes many forms under the umbrella brand of Foróige Go - digital skills for what’s now and next.
All of our digital youth work programmes are designed to facilitate young people to grow their empathy, critical thinking, and digital citizenship. These skills are essential not just to young people’s engagement with digital technologies, but also in their day-to-day lives and relationships, supporting their personal and social development, their values, and their ability to connect with others positively.
Volunteers will be supporting young people to develop their digital skills through participation in a special interest digital skills club, based in the Old Bank Youth Centre, Portlaoise. Prior experience is not required however a passion and joy of wanting to work with young people is essential. Foróige will support volunteers to upskill in relation to Digital Skills as well as provide other training and induction opportunities.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Attend Digital Skills programme weekly sessions
Plan & Facilitate activities with young people
Liase with Foróige staff for other opportunities
Skills required for this role:
A willingness to learn and support young people
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Afternoons/Evenings (exact days to be confirmed with new group)
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
