Hello to everyone !
We are a small group of Homework Club staff and students who operate under the direction of Galway City Partnership and operate our club in the Ballybane Resource Centre (behind the church and beside the Enterprise Centre) - free transport available from ALIVE.
We have small but wonderful group of students , from 1st years to Leaving Certificate candidates who would really appreciate you sharing any skills/knowledge you might have.
We open from Mon-Thurs 4.30-6.30pm so any time during this period we would accommodate you. Your session could be :
*one-to-one
*a small group (max 4)
* a one day workshop on a given topic from the second level curriculum.
We can supply materials etc so there will be no cost to you and your commitment can be long/short term , especially during the dreaded exams .
All volunteers having NUIG vetting can apply.
This is a great opportunity to initiate/enhance your teaching skills/subject knowledge or just simply a way to bring forward the next generation of teachers and engineers!

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Holders of NUIG garda vetting can apply. Garda vetting can later be obtained through Galway City Partnership.
Types of tasks especially required:
-Basic and exam level Maths, Geog
-Maths,Biology ,Science -Junior /Leaving Certificate (Ordinary level only)
-Eng (H/O) Junior/Leaving Certificate
-Irish,French for Orals and reading comprehension, writing ((Ordinary level only)
Leaving Cert DCG , Engineering (H), Construction 0/H
But all subjects welcomed
Skills required for this role:
Ability to impart subject knowledge clearly in a relaxed setting
Reliability and conscientiousness
Willingness to engage in a relaxed atmosphere of teaching-learning for everyone.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday-Thurs
Any period within 4.30pm-6.30pm
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
