Requirements:
Global Action Plan (GAP) is an Irish charity with the aim of creating sustainable communities across Ireland. Our mission is to support people to live more sustainable lifestyles, by offering practical yet creative solutions that inspire people to act and change their long-term consumption habits.
As part of our suite of programmes, we run a range of environmental education programmes with schools and community groups both in the classroom and outdoors in local parks and in GLAS, our community garden in Ballymun. GLAS is also an accredited Discovery Primary Science and Maths centre.
The GAP Environmental Education Intern will provide support to the Environmental Education department, and will involve desk based work as well as working on our outdoor education activities as part of our Park Stewardship and Little Green Fingers programmes.

Terms and conditions
This is an unpaid internship position.
Work may be hybrid, as we are not fully returned to the office.
Minimum 8-week placement, exact dates to be agreed with the candidate.
14-24 hours per week, to be agreed with the candidate
Garda vetting will be required as much of the work will be with young people.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Duties and Responsibilities
Development and research to support GAP’s programmes.
You will receive a full induction into the organisation and each specific department prior to undertaking any duties. As a member of our small staff team, your input will be valued and welcomed, and where possible we encourage you to make suggestions and provide feedback to staff. You will report to the GAP Education Programme Coordinator, who will oversee your work and provide support and supervision during your placement.
Please note the above duties are not exhaustive and a level of flexibility is required in this role.
Skills required for this role:
Essential skills and qualifications
Enthusiasm for engaging and leading the community, including volunteers, community groups, and school groups.
Comfortable working both outdoors and indoors.
Desirable skills and qualifications

Flexible hours between Monday and Friday to be agreed by candidate
Minimum time commitment per week:
10+ hour p/week
