Description

A hugely rewarding role, as a Foster Kitty Visitor you will visit fosterers in their home to assess kitties that are not improving or fosters who need guidance. 

 

CDPA is a registered charity dedicated to caring and improving the lives of cats and dogs in Ireland. Our volunteers collaborate with local communities to reduce animal suffering through our Trap-Neuter-Return, foster-rehoming and welfare programmes.  

 

Commitment required: Minimum 6 months 

Minimum weekly commitment: 2-3 visits per week 

Location: In person (North and South Dublin) 

Other requirements: Own vehicle required

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Role Description 

  • Organize visits with the cat fosterers at their home 

  • Inform and advise fosterers who need more guidance with help from the team 

  • Carry out a behavior assessment and fill out a report 

  • Escalate concerns as necessary 

Skills required for this role:

Desired Qualities 

  • Good communication & interpersonal skills 

  • Fluent in English 

  • Kind, caring, patient, reliable & dedicated  

  • Empathetic towards animals and other volunteers 

 

Desired Experience 

  • Experience and knowledge in cat behavior is necessary 

  • Proven experience socializing feral cats and kittens is preferable 

  • Experiencing in communicating with a wide range of people from different backgrounds 

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week
