Global Citizen Award
Requirements:All returned volunteers (18+) in Ireland with a minimum of 1-week overseas volunteer experience.
The Global Citizen Award (GCA) is a programme that encourages international volunteers to use their overseas experience to take action and raise awareness of global justice on their return to Ireland. There are 3 levels of the GCA, each with various requirements.
We are running a free lunchtime webinar on December 1st 2020 1pm-2pm on Taking Collective Action on Social Justice Issues, you can sign up HERE for the event.
In this webinar we will explore what is involved with taking collective action.

Tools used to plan your action
Collaborating with other like-minded networks
Sign-posts for further action
There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions to the Global Citizen Award coordinator and a program coordinator who runs the ‘International Citizens for Local Perspectives’ (IC4LOP) Erasmus + project run by Comhlámh.

The GCA is about:
The award is open to all returned International Volunteers (18+) in Ireland with a minimum of 1-week overseas volunteer experience with a volunteering sending agency that has signed up to the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice. You can search the list signatories to the Comhlámh Code of Good Practice to see if you are eligible to apply for the GCA. There is no restriction on when your volunteering placement took place.
A mentor will provide you with peer learning support throughout the Global Citizen Award journey. On completion, all awardees will be recognised at a National Award Ceremony and become a part of the GCA Alumni Network.
There are 3 achievable Award options; Bronze, Silver, or Gold with various actions tailored to suit you!
