Requirements:Laptop and headset for online reading sessions
Kinia is a charity supporting young people across Ireland. Our Reading Buddy programme pairs volunteers with primary school students (aged 7-11) who are struggling with their reading. Volunteers and students read together twice a week, over an eight week period. These reading sessions take place in Autumn (October - December) and Spring (March - May).
The reading sessions will take place in person, or online.
Volunteers must complete an application form, garda vetting, and training.

Before the programme starts:
Time spent completing Garda Vetting (roughly 2 hours) and Reading Buddy training (roughly 2 hours)
During the programme:
- Travel time for in person reading
- 1 hour of reading per week
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
References must be provided as part of the application form
