Volunteers will support staff to enable young people to complete their homework in an afterschool club based in Portlaoise. Young people will attend from local primary schools and will be priotitised based on need. They will have the opportunity to develop their communication, facilitation and leadership skills as part of their volunteering and will receive Foróige Volunteer Training and support.

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Volunteers need to be energetic and enthusiastic about working with young people. There will be some organisation and evaluation skills required for the programme. General experience with young people will be valuable but not essential.

Skills required for this role:

Developing relationships

Tech/IT would be an advantage

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday and Wednesday afternoons

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
