Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:


Start: 01.05.2022 [or by arrangement] – 12 months

Description: SCI Switzerland is a peace organization, which is organizing workcamps with around 150 international volunteers every year. The main task of the EVS volunteer is the placement of short-term volunteers in workcamps in Switzerland and abroad. You will also be involved in workcamp planning & publication, in supporting the staff with the conception and realization of workshops and preparation weekends intended for the future participants of the workcamps and in workcamp evaluation.



Start: 01.05.2022 [or by arrangement] – 12 months

Description: The Asylum Office of the canton of Valais provides several centers in the region, where asylum seekers live, work and get education during the time they wait for their decision for a stay permit. Volunteers assist them with daily activities (medical care, recreational activities, care, exchanges, meals, school care…) and organise individual or group activities.


Start: 19.04.2022 – 30.08.2022 [or by arrangement] – 4 months

Description: Circus Lollypop is a well-established traveling circus working with children and youth with the aim to encourage young people to develop their own youth culture and gain more self-consciousness. The volunteer will travel with the circus through and make stops at many schools in several cantons. At the end of the EVS, the volunteer might even get the opportunity to accompany the circus to a country of Eastern Europe for the month of September.

Skills required for this role:

You are between 18-30 years old and available for the full time period. You have good knowledge in English. You share the values including, solidarity, human rights and peacebuilding. You must also motivated for the work with young people and volunteers from different cultures.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Opportunities #1 and #2 are 12 months in length and opportunity #3 is 4 months. These projects are both onsite and fully funded so time commitments may vary

Minimum time commitment per week:
10+ hour p/week
