Description

Aphasia Ireland is currently looking for Volunteer Administrative Assistants across Ireland who can help us provide all-round support for people with Aphasia. This opportunity would be most suitable for people with some administrative/office experience and/or PR, Business, Marketing, Event Management and Human Resources students. However, all volunteers are welcome! If you think you can contribute to the ongoing work that Aphasia Ireland does to help individuals with aphasia, then please consider applying!

We are seeking volunteers who can assist with a wide variety of administrative tasks. Due to Covid-19, we are operating remotely. Therefore, this is a fully virtual role for the time being. 

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

In this role, you will be assisting with some of the following: 

  • Organising fundraisers and generating new fundraising ideas

  • Grant and report writing

  • Answering email enquiries

  • General admin/office support duties

We welcome volunteers with ideas on how we could improve our services and further help people living with aphasia and their loved ones. We would love to hear from individuals who have skills not listed in this ad, that might be beneficial to Aphasia Ireland and our clients in a varied capacity as well. 

Skills required for this role:

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Strong IT skills

  • Organised and detail oriented

Ideally, studying towards a degree in one of the following:

  • Business
  • Accounting
  • Business Administration or Business Management
  • Event Management 
  • Law, or any other related discipline 
  • Previous Administration/office  and Non-profit sector experience would be an advantage though is not essential 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
A 40 minute team meeting every Wednesday evening

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
