Requirements:
YMCA Dublin is seeking volunteers who are eager to make a real impact in their communities and make a difference in the lives of youths.
Join YMCA Dublin as a PlusOne Mentor and you can help to provide young people with safe, engaging, supportive spaces that they need to reach their full potential.
We are looking for enthusiastic and compassionate individuals aged 21+ to join us. No experience is required as full specialist training will be provided and you will work closely alongside the PlusOne team.
We invite applications from all, however, due to outstanding needs amongst our current cohort of young people, we are particularly encouraging applications from male volunteers, at present.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteers will be expected commit to a minimum 1 year as a mentor and meet with their mentee each week.
What you will do during the mentoring meeting is completely up to the mentor and mentee.
Mentor and mentee typically will typically choose different activities based on their interests and hobbies.
There will also be group activities organised by the PlusOne staff, and the free reign to explore and develop the relationship one-on-one, via your own activities such as cooking, music, crafts etc.

- English language
- Day to day communication skills
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday evenings
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
