Oxfam Shop Volunteer
Requirements:Energetic, enthusiastic volunteers required for our Preparing for Transition To Senior Cycle
This is a residential workshop taking place over 3 days and 2 nights at the University of Limerick. It is aimed at students who have completed their Junior Certificate or Transition Year in June 2020.
The focus will be on independent travel, self-advocacy, assistive technology, peer support, college supports and managing own support needs.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
As a volunteer, you will be expected to help NCBI staff and students during activities and moving between the different venues for classes and breaks/meal times.
Skills required for this role:
Fluent English is essential
Knowledge of assistive technology is desirable but not essential
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Ideally volunteers will be available for the full 3 days of the camp.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
All applicants will be Garda Vetted by us, the organisation. Volunteers must be available to attend an informal interview and induction/training prior to the event. All of our volunteers are required to complete the HSE online “Children First” course - this will be organised with us the organisation. The online training presentation takes approx 1-2 hours and on completion a certificate of successful completion is issued. Volunteer accommodation will be provided if required.
