Down Syndrome Limerick
Limerick
Requirements:walk or run minimum of 6 miles
The Regeneron Great Limerick run is the biggest mass participation sporting event outside of Dublin
As you may know, Down Syndrome Limerick is a remarkable organisation that provides crucial support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. But as with any mission close to the heart, they need more than just good intentions—they need action. That’s where you come in.
This year, I’m asking you to take part in something truly special—The Great Limerick Run. By walking or running for Down Syndrome Limerick, you’ll be giving far more than your time and effort; you’ll be giving the gift of opportunity, dignity, and hope to those who need it most.
Imagine the families who depend on the programs and services that Down Syndrome Limerick provides. The parents who are trying to secure better futures for their children. The children who just want to belong and thrive. The adults who are looking for opportunities to live independently, find friendships, employment and contribute to the community.
I’ve seen firsthand how Down Syndrome Limerick transforms lives—helping children learn and grow, supporting families with guidance and resources, and fighting tirelessly for a more inclusive, loving society. But none of this can happen without the support of people like you.
By participating in the Great Limerick Run, every step you take is a step toward a brighter future for someone with Down syndrome. Whether it’s the 10K, half marathon or the full marathon for the seasoned runners your effort will raise much-needed funds for programs that make a real difference in the lives of so many.
It’s not just about running or walking—it’s about making sure that people with Down syndrome have the same opportunities we all deserve. It’s about creating a world where they are valued, where they are supported, where they know that they matter. And you can help make that happen.
I know that life is busy, and it can be hard to find the time or energy to commit to something like this. But I promise you, when you cross that finish line—knowing that every mile you’ve run, every step you’ve walked, has made a tangible difference—it will fill your heart in ways you can’t imagine.
For every step that we take on this run,
We honor the battles they've quietly won.
With hearts full of grace,
We'll run in their place,
For those whose voices need to be heard by everyone .......
