Requirements:All adults in scouting are reference checked, vetted and undergo training and safegaurding training and a membership fee
Only have bit of time and interested in Scouting. 14th Galway run a special programme for youths age 18-26. This is a programme that provides lots of opportunities to have fun, be part of the local community and do a little volunteering service for the next generation. We ask our Rovers to contribute 25 hours ahead to help us deliver our activities to our young people.
Join Galway's fastest growing Scout Group, The 14th Galway! We work with young people aged 6 to 26 of the Western Galway suburbs.” We have volunteer opportunities in roles ranging from voluntary youth workers roles to background support roles.
The 14th Galway, Galway’s fast growing Scout Group provides active scouting to young people aged 6 to 26 of the Western Galway Suburbs. We are part of Scouting Ireland which is a uniformed, voluntary, non-formal education movement.
We provide a safe, youth centric environment that encourages the Social, Physical, Intellectual, Character, Emotional, and Spiritual development of young people so that they may achieve their full potential and, as responsible citizens, improve society.
We provide a mixed programme of active, progressive Scouting based on weekly club meetings and, most importantly, regular outdoor day events and overnight camps building to major yearly summer camps. Our events provide a mix of adventure sport type activities, survival skills and community and environmental service projects.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Volunteer roles for Rover Scouts include:
Maintance assiatance on our camping and boating equipment
Instruction support in outdoor activities
Event planning and running

Flexibile based on your schedule
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
