There are many active Scout Groups in Cork City in need of new volunteers.
Cork Scout Groups are looking for new, young leaders to allow children and teenagers attend weekly meetings where they develop & grow through the Scout Method.
Scouting Ireland will provide training and opportunities to new leaders to learn skills such as camping, mountaineering, first aid, kayaking and many more.
We need young adults living in Cork City to attend one evening meeting per week and to help out on a weekend activity or camp once every two to three months.
The initial training requirement is a mandatory course that takes place in-person on a Saturday/Sunday. All training costs are covered.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Run Games
Teach new Skills via Learn-by-doing
Organise Activities & Events
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Initial Scout Leader Training; Two Online Sessions followed by a full-day Saturday.
One Weeknight evening (7 ~ 9 pm) per week
One Weekend Activity (Saturday or Sunday morning) bi-monthly
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
