Description

Special Olympics Ireland National Collection Day is our biggest fundraiser of the year! It’s a day we celebrate Special Olympics and our athletes right across the island of Ireland.

The success of the day relies on our wonderful volunteers who are collecting at different collection points organised by our Regional Fundraising Coordinator. In Connaught, we are currently recruiting for volunteers and especially in some of our bigger locations like Galway. 

We ask volunteers to give a couple of hours of their time to collect at a open collection point closest to them and bring a friend if you can too!

We are also looking for coordinators for some locations in city centre. This would involve managing a collection point for the day and being the point of contact for the volunteers scheduled to collect in that location.

It’s is a day full of great fun for all our volunteers involved.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Bucket collection at stores and shopping centres locally for a couple of hours. We will provide bibs, buckets, stickers and signage to all volunteers which can be collected at a base point and retruned to same. All details on the base point etc will be shared ahead of the day.

Skills required for this role:

Friendly, outgoing, enthusiastic people who are happy to chat with the public and represent Special Olympics Ireland for the day.

Friday April 21st 2023 - 2 hours volunteering or to coordinate a collection point for the day

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
