Westside Youth Project - Youth Work Ireland, Galway
Requirements:Knowledge and interest in women's studies and social/personal development in young people.
A volunteer is sought to support the work of Westside Youth Project satff for one day during our 6 week in-school programme. 11.30am - 12.30pm on a Tuesday during April- May.
Youth Work Ireland Galway, through our Westside Youth Project will facilitate an in-school social and personal development programme with girls in a national school in Galway City. The goal of the programme is to empower the young women to develop their sense of self. The programme will cover topics such as personal strength and resilience, building self-confidence and self-esteem, body-image, friendship and goal-setting – all of which are carried out in a fun, creative and interactive method.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Bring some expertise around global women's studies in to the group work. This is only required for one session, thus 1hour. To contribute to the learning experience of the girls in the group regarding the situation of women both globally and locally.
Skills required for this role:
Basic presentation skills and group work skills. Fun and open personality to engage with the young women to enhance their learning experience.

Tuesday 11.30am to 12.30pm

1 hour p/week
