Donation Coordinators enact the mission and vision of The Hygiene Bank Ireland in each of our Local Projects (branches).

Local Projects encourage the general public to donate hygiene and household cleaning products to Drop Off Points around the county. Donation Coordinators then sort, log and deliver the products to local community organisations. These organisations then distribute the products to those in their community who are facing hygiene poverty.

We are currently recruiting volunteers in Co. Dublin, Co. Wicklow, North and South Tipperary, Co. Donegal, Galway City and Cork City.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Roles and responsibilities of Donation Coordinators include:
1) Establishing a Drop Off Point in a shop, pharmacy or other local business
2) Managing the relationship with the business owner
3) Collecting and driving donated products to and from Drop Off Points, the Storage Unit, and Community Partner organisations
4) Logging collected and donated products
5) Attending online Zoom meetings with other THB volunteers

Skills required for this role:

All volunteers at The Hygiene Bank should be passionate about tackling hygiene poverty. On top of this, we are looking for people with good communication and interpersonal skills, strong ability to work as a team, reliable and honest. The ability to drive is preferable.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Volunteers can join The Hygiene Bank Ireland for 1-2 hours a month up to 1-2 hours a week. Volunteering is flexible, and can fit around other commitments. Local Projects hold a Zoom meeting every other week in the evening which is only time where all volunteers are required to join.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
