Are you passionate about fostering academic excellence, empowering young scholars, and creating meaningful opportunities for undergraduates? Look no further! Global Undergraduate Awards (GUA) is seeking dynamic and motivated students to join our team as Campus Ambassadors. As a GUA Campus Ambassador, you will play a vital role in promoting our prestigious global academic program within your university community as our resident Social Influencer!

About Global Undergraduate Awards: The Global Undergraduate Awards is an international academic program that recognises and celebrates outstanding undergraduate coursework across various disciplines. By providing a platform for young scholars to showcase their work on a global stage, GUA aims to inspire intellectual curiosity, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and foster a culture of academic excellence among undergraduates worldwide.

We are looking for enthusiastic students to work with us, gain experience in Social Media Marketing and build our profile on your campus while gaining valuable work experience in the exciting field of Marketing, Social media, and Influencer campaigning.

Responsibilities: (ideas for engagement and open to other channels of discussion)

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for GUA within your university or campus.
  • Organize and execute promotional campaigns through your own Social Media Channels to raise awareness about the Global Undergraduate Awards among your peers.
  • Encourage student participation in the program.
  • Facilitate networking events and information sessions to connect students with previous award winners and GUA alumni.
  • Provide guidance and support to students interested in submitting their research for the Global Undergraduate Awards.
  • Assist and recommend coordination of local University events the GUA could support, such as sporting events, Freshers and research symposiums.
  • Act as a liaison between GUA and your university administration, student organizations, and academic departments.

Requirements from the ideal candidate:

  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Passionate about promoting academic excellence and empowering fellow undergraduates.
  • Well-connected within the university community or with a large social media following (or looking to grow it) with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities. 
  • Experienced with Social or traditional media platforms.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Willingness to utilise your social channels to build our profile to support the Global Undergraduate Awards
  • Engage in campus events supporting our competition
  • Represent our organisation on campus at freshers/refreshers events
  • Use own initiative to promote our competition on campus, making contacts with SU, library, careers, departmental tutors etc

Skills required for this role:

  • Instagram/Snap Chat/ LinkedIn/Facebook social media platform experience - posting and building followers

  • PR copywriting - useful

  • Graphic Design skills  (Canva) - advantageous

  • Multiple languages - helpful in promotion globally and represent the diversity of our entrants

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
