The UL International PhD Student Buddy Programme is an initiative that matches incoming international students with a student volunteer from UL based on similar interests. Coming to a new country can be daunting for new students. New international students at the University of Limerick often have a lot of questions and concerns during their first weeks. The programme strives to help our international PHD students settle in during their first semester by providing them with insider tips and sharing your experiences as a new student at UL. The role of the Buddy Programme is more important than ever before, as our incoming PhD colleagues are faced with new challenges in light of COVID-19. The buddy programme will run virtually for the Spring 2021 semester. With the vast number of online platforms that exist, it is very possible to provide the same level of support to your new international buddies safely online.
