Tutors required to advise Traveller students with assignments at NUI Galway.
Tutoring session will be delivered on campus at NUI Galway and online.
The Mincéirs Misl'd in Education project aims to develop an Irish Traveller community embedded and culturally inclusive model that will empower the Travelling community to identify and overcome barriers to access, progression, retention, and success in higher education (HE).
Volunteers include third level students, student teachers, current teachers and those passionate about a particular subject. This is a great way to have an impact on the lives of Traveller students, and gain teaching experience.
This is a support offered by NUI Galway’s Traveller Education Officer and the Mincéirs Misl'd in Education Project.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
The volunteer will be expected to tutor Irish Traveller students and give advice on assignments, deadlines etc. The tutoring sessions will be delivered at NUI Galway or online to Traveller students located in counties Galway, Mayo and Sligo.
Skills required for this role:
The volunteer must have an understanding of the subject and of the educational needs of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Monday - Friday
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
