Description

The role of a Community Rep is an ideal opportunity for those who are interested in volunteering or helping out at events, but don’t have the availability to sign up for regular or on-going activities.

UCD Students’ Union cares deeply about improving the student experience for all of its members.

We run a series of events (both on and off campus) to foster a sense of community and improve the student experience for all members of UCD.

Community Reps will sign up to our volunteering programme and can volunteer for as many (or as few) events that they wish.

The role offers great flexibility – allowing the individual to volunteer only at events that they have the availability for / are interested in.

Some of the events that Community Reps can choose to volunteer at include:

  • SHAG Week Comedy Event
  • Halloween Ball
  • Animal Farm
  • Christmas Market
  • Pot Luck Events
  • Great Donate

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Volunteering opportunities include:

  • Admissions & ticket scanning 
  • Art & craft workshops
  • Charity Ambassadors
  • Crowd Management 
  • Event Assistants

Skills required for this role:

Essential Skills

  • Ability to address / talk to large groups of students
  • Represent UCDSU and our chosen charity partner in a positive manner
  • Comply with all UCDSU Health and Safety regulations 
  • Act in a safe and responsible manner

Desireable Skills

  • Knowledge of UCDSU, our campaigns and initiatives

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Shift days and times vary, students can sign up for shifts that best suit their availability

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role:
All applicants must register as a volunteer through our online rostering platform. You will be asked to read and accept our volunteer charter. Once your application has been accepted, you will be able to view all available opportunities and sign up for shifts that best suit your availability.
