Description

Study Club for young people from Regeneration areas of Limerick city. Volunteer tutors will join the team at Access Campus and work to help the young people develop their study skills. We try to avoid a "grind" situation as our aim is to engender an ability to study independently and to prepare for the third level environment.

The underlying focus of our efforts are on building confidence in an academic environment, so that young people and their families are better prepared when advancing through second and third level education.

Specific subject tuition is the tool that our voluntter tutors use to engage and build a relationship with the Study Club members, and through that to enable the young people to take ownership of and responsibility for their own learning. Our aim is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for the young people where they are allowed to express themselves and to be proactive in seeking support for their education.
