Requirements:Open to current undergraduate or postgraduate students of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, UL.
We want to hear your voice!
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences are looking for students to join our team of Student Ambassadors. This programme is in partnership with the UL President's Volunteer Award meaning that students will be recognised for the time they spend volunteering. You will get the opportunity to tell your UL story whilst helping us to promote our courses and campus. No one knows what it’s like to live and study in UL better than you - we need your voice to help us attract new students, and to give advice to current students.
Our only requirement is that you are studying a Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences undergraduate or postgraduate course and that you are willing to help promote the University in an enthusiastic, positive way.
As a Student Ambassador you will:
- Write blog posts and/or vlog for our student blog.
- Post on our Social Media accounts.
You will also have the occasional, and optional, opportunity to:
- Support us at UL marketing events such as Open Days and Career Fairs, talking positively to prospective students about your life in UL.
-Opportunity to take part in photo shoots and promotional videos about UL, and appear in our promotional material talking about what it’s like to study in UL.
What will you get out of this experience?
- Be an important part of our Faculty team. Learn to use blogs and social media as marketing tools (great for your CV!)
- Improve your writing skills and add to your writing portfolio.
- Develop your communication skills.
- Network, meet others and have fun.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is one of 4 faculties in UL, offering a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Student Ambassadors will work with the Dean’s Office in online promotion.
All hours volunteered count towards the UL President's Volunteer Award.
Ambassadors will promote UL and the faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences by getting involved in activities including:
Writing blog posts and/or vlogging for our student blog.
Write for our social media and tell your UL stories
You will also have the occasional, optional opportunity to:

Skills required for this role:
Applicants must be a student in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences at UL
Ideally applicants should also have -
An enthusiasm for writing, and content creation.
A knowledge of using social media is useful though not required as you can receive training on this.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Opportunities and commitments will be spaced throughout the semester and organisers will be mindful to avoid busy times such as exams.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
