Ever wanted to tackle the highest peak in Africa? Keen to exercise your wanderlust after 2020 stalled travel? NOW is your chance to do something incredible in 2023. UL has partnered up with Choose a Challenge to help raise money for MRF, taking on THE Mount Kilimanjaro Trek to the roof of Africa!

Come along to our information meeting on 24th November to hear from Choose a Challenge and Meningitis Research Foundation about how to get involved in this life-changing challenge. More info on these information meetings can be found here -

Worried about travelling abroad still? 

To give you peace of mind, we’re offering FREE deferrals for all of our 2023 trips, meaning you’re welcome to defer your trip to 2024 if you’re worried about travelling. Offer ends January 27th 2023.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Attend one of the Information Meetings in HSG030 (13:00-14:00) or HSG037 (18:00-19:00) Thursday 10th November


Attend one of the Virtual Information Meetings on 24th November (12:00-13:00 or 18:00-19:00)


Volunteers are expected to raise money for the Meniningitis Research Foundation over the next 6 months before being given the oppurtinity to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. All details are discussed in the information meetings and no commitment is required to attend the information meetings. All are welcome!

Skills required for this role:

- Determination to raise money for charity.

- A moderate level of fitness.

- Love of the outdoors.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Attend one of the one hour information meetings if interested.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role:
No Screening Required. All are welcome, even non-UL students so spread the word! (Someone went with their mother up Kilimanjaro last year)
