Balally Family Resource Centre we run a weekly 'After Schools Club' for children aged between 11 and 12 years. We aim to target the children who would benefit from additional support in building socialisation skills, getting on with others and working together as a team. We run this group every Thursday afternoon from the centre from 2pm to 4pm. We are looking for a passionate video editor who will share their skills with the young people in our clubs over a 4-weekly Video Making/Editing workshop in conjunction with another member of staff.

We require individuals who are fun and energetic, who enjoy working with challenging young people and who have the ability to work within a team and on their own initiative.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Tasks will include:

- Co-Planning the group session for the 4-week workshop with our projectworker.

- work well within a team and communicate any needs that may arise - there will always be staff present to support all volunteers.

- Implementing the 4 week Video Making/Editing workshops, with finished short video as final product at the end of 4 weeks.

- Weekly post group evaluation and clean up.

- Must be patient and show empathy

- Must have the ability to calmly deal with challenging situations which may arise from time to time

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Thursday Afternoon 2.15 pm till 4.15 pm

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
