Would you like a birds eye view of St. Patrick's Day Parade and/or The International Band Parades as they make their way down O'Connell St., Limerick?  If so, then this Volunteering opportunity is the one for you!

1. The streets of Limerick will be filled with lively musical tones and the spectacular sight of over 1,300 talented marching band musicians from across Ireland, Europe and America on Sunday 15th March 2020 for the 50th Limerick International Band Championship.

2. Limerick’s St. Patrick’s Festival celebrations will burst into life at midday on Tuesday 17th March for Ireland’s largest regional St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The parade will feature thousands of participants from various community groups, companies, bands and sports clubs from across Limerick and further afield.Tea/Coffee/Light Lunch provided after each event.

We need Volunteers to help guide our performers and audience and enjoy the incredible atmosphere as the bands and parade make their way down O'Connell St. on the 15th and 17th of March 2020.

Please Note:  Volunteers are requested to attend a volunteer briefing prior to the event on Thursday 12th March @ 6.30pm (Approximately 45 minutes) and to wear a high vis (supplied by us) during the parades.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Welcoming the public, highlighting events and guiding the public

Dissemination of Information

Stewarding assistance

Skills required for this role:

Comfortable dealing with the public

Comfortable being on your feet for a few hours

Good communication skills, friendly, personable, supportive of the event

Details of time commitment needed for role:
12th March -Volunteer Briefing (1 hour) 15th March - The International Band Parade (3 hours) 17th March - St. Patrick's Day Parade (3-4 hours)

Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
