Requirements:
Cambodia is home to 15 million people; more than a quarter live below the poverty line. The country is emerging from decades of conflict and inequalities still persist.
Too many families live in poorly built homes without access to secure tenure or basic facilities, such as proper toilets and clean water.
Since 2003, Habitat Cambodia has been working to develop sustainable communities, serving more than 90,000 people.
Volunteer in Cambodia next summer with volunteers from across Ireland to support this life-changing work. This is a unique opportunity to experience grassroots development and the warmth of the Cambodian people. Volunteers will:
SEE the shocking reality of poverty housing
SERVE families in need
SPEAK out for the cause of safe, decent housing when they return home
Itinerary
Habitat co-ordinates everything for a safe and rewarding experience. You don’t need special skills to take part.
Day 1-2 Depart Ireland, arrive in Cambodia & orientation
Day 3-9 Build and closing celebration with the community
Day 10-12 Cultural Activities & Depart
Dates & itinerary dependent on flight availability.
Supporting Habitat's Work
The budget to take part is €2,800p/p (this includes a non-refundable deposit, travel, in-country expenses, a debrief and a minimum donation towards Habitat’s work).
We ask everyone to personally contribute towards their logistics costs and to raise more than the minimum as every penny makes a huge difference to families in need.
We have lots of ideas and resources to support fundraising.
