Description

Aphasia Ireland is currently looking for Web Design Volunteers across Ireland who can help us revamp our website to better showcase our services. This opportunity would be most suitable for Computer Science, Website Development/Design, Graphic Design, Marketing (and other related discipline) students. However, volunteers from all backgrounds are welcome! If you are interested in website design and wish to gain experience, then please consider applying!

Due to Covid-19, we are operating remotely. Therefore, this is a virtual role for the time being. 

This is a brilliant opportunity for students who wish to gain experience designing websites and make their CVs stand out. You will gain valuable practical experience in website development and social media.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Your role:

As a web designer volunteer you will: 

- Assist in revamping our website with regard to content and structure.

- Ensure the website is up to date by communicating with both the clinical and admin teams and update accordingly

- Work closely with the social media/marketing team on the creation of content for both the website and social media accounts.

Skills required for this role:

Requirements:

An interest in website design is essential to this role. 

A background in computer science, graphic/website design and marketing is considered a huge benefit. 

Previous experience with working with Wordpress (or other similar systems) and Canva would also be a huge advantage, though it is not a requirement as training will be provided. 

Good teamwork and organisational skills are essential. 

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
