Foróige is one of Ireland's largest national youth organsiaitons. The organisation engages with young people aged 10-18 yrs old nationwide

Foróige operates approximately 600 volunteer led youth clubs across the countr
We involve nearly 50,000 young people in our work and this is supported by approx 5,000 volunteers who help us reach this number annually.
Your role as a volunteer Youth Leader:
* We place a huge emphasis on the role a volunteer adult can play as a Guide, Mentor and Facilitator for a young person, hence the vested title of Leader
As a Youth Leader with Foróige, you will be part of a team (sometimes a new one or joining an existing group) who provide the framework for a fun, dynamic, positive space for young people. To develop ideas for club activities with the team and young people. To be actively involved in the youth group session. To take ownership and responsibility for the club and to be its guardian, from making sure to arrive on time for the club session to knowing where the first aid kit is! To be available for any additional extra youth group based activities, volunteer training and Foróige volunteer support meetings.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
* Helping develop a good fun positive club structure, which allows young people to have the opportunity to be themselvse, have fun, make friends, learn vital life skills (teamwork, communication, leadership) and to be encouraged to participate in a range of different actiivities and experiences that can broaden their wolrld horizons
* Woprking with a team of adult leaders and young people in parnterhsip
* Contributing to ideas and taking on duties to ensure club activities can be realised
* Attending and committing to the club insofar as college life allows! The more you give, the more you receive
Skills required for this role:
* Someone passionate for young people and their development
* Previous experience in working with young people desirable but not essential
* Team player, self starter, someone who is creative and innovative
* Good sense of humour
* Acctive listener
* Willingness to step up to be a guardian to ensure the wellbeing and sustainability of a club
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Choose one of the following Local Templeogue CLubs!
Ultra Fusion Templeogue (Club for teens with ASD, 12-16 yr olds) Monday evenings 7:15-8:45 pm
The Small Giants Templeogue (12-14 yr olds) Tuesdays 6:30-8:30pm
The Swamp Templeogue (15-18 yr olds) Tuesdays 7:30-9:30pm
The Little Einsteins (10-12 yr olds) Thursdays 6-8:30pm
Minimum time commitment per week:
3 hour p/week
