Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Rahoon Family Centre.
Our Centre is a community-based project with charitable status committed to providing a quality service to support the targeted needs of youth and their families, in the West-side area of Galway.
Our service is grounded in the Hardiker Model Framework where we aim to meet the universal and targeted needs of our participants, within the context of the service provided.
As a volunteer we would ask you to ethically support the youth in our service and help provide a safe, welcoming non-judgemental space to allow young people from all ethnic backgrounds to build relationships and understanding, improve communication through recreational and cultural programmes.
Our programmes run throughout the year, each weekday, from 2.00pm - 6.16 pm
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Skills required for this role:
Do you have a skill you would like to share One Evening Per Week?
Do you have a favourite hobby...or a passion that you would like to share with some incredible young people?
Would you like to gain experience in a real life setting for your college placement??
Then we would love you to join our team in providing a safe, welcoming non-judgemental space; that allow young people from all ethnic backgrounds to build relationships and understanding, improve communication through recreational and cultural programmes.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 3.00pm to 6.00pm * We ask Volunteers to consider committing to the same day each week. *Times may vary during Halloween, Easter and Summer to facilitate excursions and day trips.
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
