Midwest Migrant Community Network is calling for Tutors for the Free Tuition Project. 

This project supports secondary school students from vulnerable backgrounds like Asylum Seeking/Refugee/Migrant/Traveller community or other minority groups in their preparation of the post-primary examinations by providing free tuition sessions. The project is collaboratively run by the Midwest Migrant Community Network (MMCN), Mary Immaculate College (MIC, Thurles), Premier Tuition Centre, Doras and Limerick Youth Service (LYS).

We are currently looking for tutors for: BIOLOGY, TECHNOLOGY, CHEMISTRY, FRENCH, PHYSICS, TOEFL and EAL.

- Training in Trauma informed teaching

- Reflective Practice

- Experience working with vulnerable communities

- Support from project leaders (team of Educators & Psychologists)

while promoting a diverse and multicultural Ireland.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

With another tutor, provide online weekly tuition session to small groups of 4 students about the courses previously mentioned. 

Skills required for this role:

Being a student in Education or any other relevant degree. 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
One weekday afternoon after 5pm.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
