Description

Nurture Africa's Virtual Volunteer Programme is open for applications. We are seeking students from education and healthcare disciplines (a minimum of 3rd year) and students competent in the use of MS Office to volunteer online with relevant staff members and Vocational Youth students in Uganda for the purpose of skills sharing and ongoing staff development.

All participants will receive continuous support from the Nurture Africa team in Ireland and Uganda in relation to pre-workshop preparation and throughout the delivery of workshops in order to ensure maximum impact for the community, we are working to work with in Uganda.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Commit to attending two online workshops with Nurture Africa staff in order to support a deeper understanding of Nurture Africa's work in Uganda, international development and to prepare for preparation of workshops within allocated teams.
  • Commit to working in a small team to prepare and deliver at least three (3) live workshops with relevant staff and/or vocational youth students in Uganda.
  • Evaluate the programme upon completion of workshops

Skills required for this role:

Education: Be in at least your 3rd year of study and have the confidence and ability to present in a live online workshop (fully supported)

Healthcare: Be in at least your 3rd year of study and have the confidence and ability to present in a live online workshop (fully supported)

IT/Staff Development/Youth work: A very good working knowledge of MS Office and the confidence and ability to present in a live online workshop (fully supported)

2 hour p/week
