UCD in the Community, an initative which aims to promote greater community engagement, research and learning, are currently recruiting Student Leaders to join the UCD in the Community team.

UCD in the Community are currently planning numerous events across campus (and beyond!) for 2017/18. We need your help with these events and to engage with your fellow classmates and peers, to encourage students to volunteer and make a difference.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Main duties/tasks will include:

  • Liasing with members of the UCD in the Community team regarding volunteering opportunities and events
  • Helping organise events and activities on campus for students
  • Helping students register on
  • Be involved with the planning of Information Sessions, Campus Roadshows, Stalls
  • Recruit fellow classmates and peers to volunteer 
  • Provide guidance to students who may be interested in volunteering but not sure where to start
  • Meet community-based organisations with members of the UCD in the Community team
  • Administrative duties e.g. take contact details of interested students/staff/alumni, registration at events

  • An interest in becoming more involved in UCD in the Community
  • Belief in community engagement and the benefits of working together to make a difference!

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Time commitment will depend on the demand i.e. if there is an event, you may be required to volunteer at this, however if there is no activities or events, you are simply required to volunteer to meet the UCD in the Community team for planning, brainstorming etc.

Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
