On Saturday, 6 June 2020, we will welcome 20,000+ visitors to campus for free events in science & innovation, arts & humanities, technology, business, health and well-being activities. The UCD Festival is our largest public engagement event showcasing the best and the brightest of the UCD community!

Behind the scenes, over 500 people will work in collaboration to make this year's event the most exciting, diverse and vibrant yet.

Volunteering at the Festival is a great way to meet students, alumni, faculty and staff, while connecting with the UCD community.

The deadline for UCD Festival Volunteer applications is Friday, 1 May 2020.

Is training provided?: Yes

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

We need volunteers to help:
•    Encourage people in the local area to come along to the Festival
•    Set-up, decoration and pack down the Festival site
•    Welcome and direct exhibitors to festival areas
•    Meet, greet and orientate public visitors
•    Assist UCD Festival staff, demonstrators and speakers
•    Be social media ambassadors on the day
•    Act as lecture stewards
•    Staff information points around campus
•    Evaluate and capture feedback from the day

Skills required for this role:

We operate an inclusive volunteer programme which welcomes volunteers of all ages, ethnicities and volunteers with disabilities. The UCD Festival relies on people with a wide variety of skills and provides training to ensure that you are comfortable undertaking your tole. If you have a physical disability, or have other access requirements, we will do our best to accommodate your needs and those of all our volunteers.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Full day event on Saturday, 6 June 2020.

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week

Additional screening required for this role:
Once you apply, we will be in contact with more information and a short phone interview. On the day we will provide: • Full Briefing & Relevant Training Prior to UCD Festival • Lunch/Refreshments • Lanyard & Programmes • Lots of Fun!
