The Turas Centre
Requirements:Good standard of written and spoken Irish
The Turas Centre is a full-time pilot alternative education programme for young people aged 12-15 years that are out of mainstream education. The Centre was established by Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRETB) in October 2018.
We require a volunteer Irish tutor to work with one of our students on a 1:1 basis in the Turas Centre, with the support of Turas Centre staff.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
The volunteer will tutor one student to support them to complete their Junior Certificate Foundation Irish exam in June 2020.

Details of time commitment needed for role:
The Tutor will generally work with the student on Mondays and/or Wednesdays from 3pm - 4pm. However, we can be flexible on these days if necessary.
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
Additional screening required for this role:
In addition to Garda Vetting (which we organise for the volunteer), we require volunteers to complete an application from, provide two references and to complete a Statutory Declaration (form provided)
