Description

The Summer Programme consists of 25 students (10 years of age upwards) to 25 years. 

It is a day programme from Monday 3rd July 2023 to Friday 7th July 2023 (10:00AM - 4:00PM) consisting the following activities: Judo, Tennis, Football, Swimming, Tandem cycling,Arts,equine ,sailing and Crafts amongst many more.activities

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position which will be processed with you after you apply.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Without volunteers, ChildVision’s Summer Programme for young people who are blind and with visual impairment would be not possible. We need your help urgently to ensure a successful, action-packed week of activities with lots of fun and laughter. Our volunteers are an integral part of making summer programme happen!

One of the most important aspects of your role as a ChildVision is to support and encourage each camper to participate in all aspects of the camp activities and in doing so maximise the benefit they gain from the summer programme. This can include trying new sports, growth in confidence, make new friends and everything in-between.

You will work as part of a Volunteer team to ensure the safety and welfare of the campers, and above all, make their experience a FUN one. It is important that this relationship is built on trust, empathy, respect and acceptance. A ChildVision volunteer can have a huge influence on the experience of the participant especially if it is their first time at camp, so please fulfil your role to the best of your ability!

Other elements of a ChildVision’s volunteer role may involve assisting in the coordination of the everyday tasks associated with the running of camp as well as the set up and assistance in activities. ChildVision volunteer really help the flow of camp, ensure everything is prepared and ready in advance.

Everyone has a unique contribution to make to the Summer Programme 2023.

Everyone should work together to use each other’s talents and develop a partnership to ensure everyone gets the best out of the camp.

Skills required for this role:

If selected:

You must be at least 18 years or over.

You need to be available for the full length of the camp session and to attend all days

Keen interest in sports and recreation

Details of time commitment needed for role:
Monday 3rd July 2023 at 9.30 to 4pm (Monday to Thursday) and Friday 7th July 2023, 9.30 to 2:00pm. Accommodation for volunteers maybe available.

Minimum time commitment per week:
10+ hour p/week
