Following on from the success of Cope Foundations Roots Coffee Shop in our Garden Centre in Montenotte we have opened another branch on UCC's main campus to train adults with an intellectual disability in Barista skills, customer service, communication and cash handling skills.

Volunteers are needed to help support these adults in their café roles. Helping to make coffees, operate the till, cleaning duties and providing excellent customer service.

Barista experience is essential for this role. We would really like someone who has a lot of experience working in a busy coffee shop, good communication skills, patience and a genuine interest in working with people with intellectual disabilities.

The Roots Coffee Shop will be open from 10 until 3 Monday to Friday and we would welcome help during those hours. We are asking for a minimum of 4 hours per week and a 3 month commitment.

Volunteers will gain experience working closely with adults with intellectual disabilities in a training/supported employment environment.
