Requirements:Student of NUI Galway
Would you like to help out at different events/activities and gain skills in communicating with various people, distributing information to potential applicants and assisting them. You will be able to add any hours you volunteer with the Access Centre to your ALIVE certificate.
The Access Centre consists of Access Programmes Office, Disablity Office and Mature Students Office.
There are a number of events throughout the year which require volunteers.
If you sign up to volunteer you will be sent extra information
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
1. Assisting in the set up of events 2. Giving information to potential applicants 3. Managing the flow of people 4. Giving tours of the campus 5. Engaging with members of the public others as the different events take place
Any other duties as requested
Skills required for this role:
Training and instruction will be given before each event
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Some of the events may take place on a Saturday or Sunday e.g. open days 2 -3 hours
Minimum time commitment per week:
1 hour p/week
