ISPCC Limerick is currently recruiting volunteers for its Childline Service. Childline is a listening support service for children and young people under 18 years of age. 

Do you have 4 hours to give each week?

Are you a good listener and wish to empower young people?

Are you interested in childrens' rights and believe that their voice should be heard?

If so, then volunteering with Childline could be for you!

No formal qualifications required.

Full training and regular supervision provided to all volunteers.

Opportunities for upskilling.

References available to volunteers.

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

  • Adhere to selection criteria and ISPCC ethos
  • Desire to be there to support/listen to children
  • Attendance of training course
  • 4 hours per week post training (one shift per week)
  • 1 year honorary commitment

Details of time commitment needed for role:
One 4 hour shift per week Thursday - Sunday (Afternoons and Evenings) Particularly looking for people who can cover weekend shifts.

Minimum time commitment per week:
4 hour p/week

- Attendance of information evening - Application form - Informal interview - Garda vetting - Reference check Successful applicants will be interviewed before being approved and accepted on our training course.
