1st Port of Dublin Sea Scouts (Ringsend)
Requirements:No requirements, other than enthusiasm for water safety and working with young people.
1st Port Sea Scouts work with girls and boys that are interested in the outdoors (particularly watersports and the maritime environment) and learning different skills such as hiking, map work, pioneering, first aid, camping. rowing and cooking.
Sea Scout Leaders supervise and support young people aged 8 to 10 years in undertaking a range of fun activities.
Is training provided?: Yes
Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.
Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:
Weekly meetings learning skills for outdoor adventure
Outdoor adventures on approx 6 weekends during the year such as hikes, camps, sailing, rowing, kayaking, pool etc.
Option to attend weekend summer camp in Fota Island, Cork in July 2018
Skills required for this role:
Interest in water safety and working with young people
Any qualifications in water sports are beneficial but not essential.
Details of time commitment needed for role:
Tuesday evening 19:00-20:30
Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
