Description

Assist our Fundraising Manager with organising and holding events as well as establishing connections with corporate donors / companies. Fundraising/Events Volunteers are invaluable for Saint Joseph’s Shankill to ensure our fundraising events run smoothly and all who attend have a great experience. Our fundraising events are a vital part of enabling us to continue our work. Our annual events include: coffee mornings, fashion shows, Golf Classic, Strictly Come Dancing and much more! Make a real difference in the lives of people with dementia – volunteer with us today!

Is training provided?: Yes

Please note that Garda Vetting is required for this position.

Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Assist our Fundraising Manager with organising and holding events as well as establishing connections with corporate donors / companies. Fundraising/Events Volunteers are invaluable for Saint Joseph’s Shankill to ensure our fundraising events run smoothly and all who attend have a great experience.

Skills required for this role:

Good time management

Ability to complete tasks assigned to you and be part of a team

Understanding and appreciation of Dementia and older people

Good communications skills

Empathy, patience and a caring nature

Good listener and sense of humour

Strong commitment to confidentiality

Experience of using Microsoft Office suite and design programmes such as Canva preferred 

Details of time commitment needed for role:
One morning or afternoon a week (and availability at weekends for events during the year)

Minimum time commitment per week:
2 hour p/week
