Tasks that the volunteer(s) will be expected to undertake:

Fundraising has been crucial for Wicklow Hospice, initially enabling the construction of the 15-bed in-patient facility after a decade of community effort. Today, donations are vital for covering ongoing operational costs, such as providing enhanced patient and family services like complimentary therapies, the development of the hospice gardens, and supporting our community palliative care team. For example, recent funds have allowed for upgrades to patient rooms and the creation of a cozy sitting room with a reading nook and children's toys, and the purchase of a fully accessible patient bus.

Benefits of Volunteering:

  • Personal growth: Volunteering can improve self-esteem, confidence, and overall well-being.
  • Skill development: You can gain new skills through training and by using your existing ones to help the community.
  • Making a difference: It is a rewarding way to contribute to your community and help those in need.
